Why a Waiting List ???
First of all, thank you for your interest in my tools and taking the time to stop here.
Here at EDT, things are a bit different than some of the places you may be used to. We are a VERY SMALL operation which includes myself, Chad Peters, and my wife, Kayla. We have a couple of machine shops that help us with production machining, but outside of that, it all happens here.
My wife and I assemble and package every tool that leaves the shop. I know that there are a ton of people that think I should do it different. Trust me, I have heard about it. "You need to hire help so you can grow your business." Well, that is just not how we choose to do it.
I understand that is normal in today's market. People grow a business of employees all to meet demand. That is NOT the answer for me. I know the model works, but it is NOT for me. People have become used to the Walmart and Amazon ways...I can have anything I want tomorrow. Unfortunately, we are not quite on their scale and things take a bit longer to get through our system.
In an industry such as PDR, I think that there are quite a few of you that take pride in your work. It is a bit more than just a job for you. The tools that leave this shop are the same thing for me. It is not a job, it is my life. Each tool that goes out the door has some sort of story, and it is part of our life at that moment in time.
When I started this journey, I expected years of tinkering before things took off, but that has not been the case. I am extremely grateful for all of the support that this industry has shown us. We have grown leaps and bounds further than we expected at this point, so thank you. With all of that said, we are constantly adjusting and trying to get better, but one thing is for sure, I will not compromise certain things to be able to do more.
I am constantly pushing forward with new ideas, and there is always a lot of new things going on around here, most of which I cannot share at this time. Just know that we are always trying to balance keeping products in stock, as well as push new ideas forward to hopefully help the PDR industry progress.
I have implemented a waiting list on the site. This is going to do two things: first of all, it will save your place in line on a product that is out of stock. If you sign up on the list, it will show you your place in line. And as soon as the product is available, you will have access to it first.
The second thing it will do is give me some insight as to what product is most in demand, and help me concentrate my efforts in the most beneficial direction for everyone.
I hope that you understand my position and why it is important to me to maintain some sort of personal involvement in my tools. I know I could change things up and make more tools and make them faster, but that is not what I am interested in. I want to build tools that have meaning to me and to you, not just a number going out the door.
Again, I thank you for the support. I am sorry if you have to wait on a product of ours, but one thing is for sure, I am always trying to make it worth the wait.
